Shine features fourteen gallery artists who present pieces with surfaces that gleam, glitter, or glow. Reflecting on the past year and setting positive intent for the New Year, Shinewraps up 2018 with a range of works from mixed media paintings to sculpture. Werner Bargsten’s sculpture appears to be impossibly squeezed into its copper bindings and effortlessly hangs on the wall to greet those who enter the gallery. Margie Steinmann’s geometric abstract painting incorporate silver and gold nested in earthy matte blue and green hues. Elisabeth Jacobsencomments on her piece, “Inner Circlewas made to honor close friendships I have with those who are willing to frolic in a garden, share their friendship, and who help nourish everyday adventures.” The exhibition is accompanied by On the Wall: Make Your Mark, where visitors are invited to add to the collaborative piece in the public installation space.
